Drudgery Day

Spent the day doing house chores, washing all the sheer curtains, touching up paint, painting the 2 doors that never did get painted, freshening up the house in general.  Pretending I have Spring Fever.  The snow plows woke me up this morning, it has snowed and rained all day, very gloomy.  Gotta love spring in Montana, it was snowing 5 minutes ago, now it is raining, and the temperature is 40.  The dogs keep sitting at the door looking hopeful, thinking maybe a walk will happen.  I think they will get their wish, but it will be a slog instead of a walk.  Need some fresh air anyway, house smells of paint.  Looking forward to some sunshine - I know it has to happen one day.

My new knitting project is not going as planned, for the 2nd time my gauge is way off, so will try plan C tonight.  Substituted yarn that might not be suitable, it is a Habu linen paper yarn, charcoal color, very interesting.  Crinkles when you knit, but knits very easily.  Will see if tonight brings a "Score" on that front.  Also working on a summer lace sweater, every row is a pattern row, so can only knit about 4 rows before I lose concentration.  Goal is to wear it this summer, so have to knit on it every day to make that happen.  And trying to avoid startitis, which seems to be the bane of my existence.

Off for a slog......................happy dogs.

cleaning day

Been a long, long time since the last post. Lilly is with us in spirit only now, the mice are dancing a jig. Buster, Odie and I are doing very well. Today is cleanup of the office/workspace day. Found knitting projects I didn't even remember starting - major rip out day and recycle the yarn day. Have a huge bucket of yarn now to make felted slippers, mittens, whatever out of. The good news is that I won't have to buy needles for a long time. Always wondered why I couldn't find needles that I thought I had. Bags of started projects inside of other bags of started projects, organized by scarf, mitts, shawl, etc. Filed all the patterns in case I get the urge again, but probably have moved on from these. Also found some wonderful wool/silk fiber prepared for spinning to make felted yarn out of. That was also the remains of a project I never finished from a few years ago, will probably have another 70-80 yards of felted yarn when that is done. Goal is to finish that this weekend.
